The world´s longest flight safely landed in New Zealand

The world´s longest flight landed in New Zealand Monday with the arrival of Qatar Airways ´s 14,535 kilometres (9,032 miles) Doha-Auckland service, the airline announced.



"We've authoritatively arrived in Auckland," the aircraft tweeted as flight QR920 arrived at 7.25am (1825 GMT Sunday), five minutes in front of timetable following a 16 hour 23 minute flight. 

The long-run Boeing 777-200LR crossed 10 time zones on its marathon flight. 

Qatar Airwaysnoted the flight was longer than the whole "Ruler of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" sets of three which were taped in New Zealand.
